JAM-MASTER-D

JAM-MASTER-D Jam-Master-D , a Native of Texarkana , Texas has always loved music. Since he was a small boy , he's always had a large collection of music from 8 tracks to cassettes, records, and now CD's & Mp3's. In 1985 he moved to Irving Texas for a short period to attend DeVry, while there his friends went out to local hot spot nightclubs; but he would stay in to record mixes from K104 featuring Dr Rock and others. Jam moved back to T-Town and in 1986 was asked by His cousin to DJ a company party since he had a big collection. Using a Fisher Home Stereo System with 1 belt driven turntable and 2 cassette decks he mixed it up and has been ever since.
Later JMD got a gig running the board on a talk radio station KTFS and then made one of the best investments a REAL DJ can; some technic 1200 turntables. Masta D started to mix and record cassettes after listening to mixtapes from K104fm. Never had a DJ show him how to mix , he learned from just listening and figuring it out . Peeps all over town would want him to mix them up a tape with their favorite Jamz.
Jam-Master-D went from doing parties to the club scene next , A perfect opportunity came when Former NFL star Billy Sims opened a Nightclub in Texarkana Arkansas . The Club had a DJ and let him do a few sets later he got a spot in the club. For years and from club to club Jam-Master D was known for rockin' the House .

In 1993 being known for doing his thing in the Club got him on at new local radio station, KZRB 103.5fm on weekends with his own mix show. Later he got on full time doing overnights then moved to afternoons but eventually to nights. Jam-Master-D was the 1st DJ to have a mixshow and Host it in Texarkana. Jam while on the air also became the Music Director at the station and was there from 1993-1998 . Later Jam was recruited be another new Urban station 101.7fm out of Hope Arkansas [Home of one of our best Presidents] Bill Clinton. That station later changed its format before giving it a chance so Jam left. Next Jam-Master-D got a gig on KTOY an Urban AC station where he had the Friday nite Party Mix. In Between time Jam-Master-D would to Parties , events and shows for local artists and also upgrade his equipment. In Feb 2006 he was called back to the only Urban station in town where is now does his mixshow . Jam-Master-D would prefer to use records but since so many people download illegally on the internet it has cause the record companies to cut back . Jam-Master-D still uses turntables but for the most part has converted to CD Turntables ; Jam feels that "if you wanna call yourself a DJ then you should at the least know how to mix". It is other DJ's and DJ company's that claim to best the best in the area but they have no skills to keep the party going with non-stop music.
